About

I was born in Salantai, small Lithuania town in Samogitia (Žemaitija) ethnographic region. My hometown room was like a library and from there a love for books came. My studies started in Vilnius University, Philosophy faculty (Final BA Thesis: Art in Nietzsche’s Philosophy). My son was born in 2000. In 2009 I finished Culture Management and Cultural Policy studies in Vilnius Academy of Arts (Final MA Thesis: Promotion of Reading in Lithuania: Dissemination of information, organization of events and Management.). My work with literature events started in 2005 and now all my life is surrounded by books, readings and good literature.

Summary of work

My literary work started in 2005 with voluntary work for my friend’s organized National project Book of the year campaign, it's going on for 12 years. Later I was a main coordinator of the Year of Reading 2008 in Lithuania. In 2009 I began work with the International Literature Forum Nordic Summer, and in 2012 with the International Literature Festival Druskininkai Poetic Fall The Festival just have got the EFFE label for 2017-2018. From 2014 I'm working in the Public Organization Laikas skaityti (Time to read) with different reading promotion projects for children, but mostly for their parents.

Summary of work to develop

I have 2 future plans directions: promotion of good world literature through festivals and reading promotion in general, talking to parents and helping them to read for their children. Both literature festivals I’m coordinating are not only in Vilnius but also in Lithuania regions, my task is to give quality culture to people who live in small towns. My other task is to start a literature festival for children and their families, as we don't have such an event in Lithuania yet. In my vision first festival should start in 2018.
