About
I have conceived and produced programs, events and projects for a broad range of cultural institutions in Europe and the United States including: the Los Angeles Philharmonic, the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, the Netherlands Opera, Boston's Institute of Contemporary Art, the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum, the Prague Mozart Foundation, Harvard University's Office for the Arts, the International Design Conference in Aspen, the Santa Monica Museum of Art and most recently the Library Foundation of Los Angeles and the Los Angeles Public Library.
Summary of work
For the last 4 years I have been producing large-scale, city-wide, multi-media literary projects that take a classic work of literature and consider it through a Southern California lens. Working with local artists, writers and scholars, and in partnership with other Los Angeles cultural institutions, we have generated new multi-generational audiences for complex, epic literary texts such as Moby Dick, the Odyssey and, most recently, the Oxford English Dictionary.
Summary of work to develop
I hope to expand beyond the world of the classics into the domain of contemporary literature. I am currently researching a new idea to create a series of site-specific storytelling events that would take place in unusual and generally inaccessible sites around the city.
